Los Angeles Recovery Community
Aside from being one being the focus points of some of the most well-known alcohol and drug treatment centers, the Los Angeles Recovery Community expands well beyond the property line of a treatment program. With thousands of 12 Step meetings weekly, Los Angeles has one of the largest recovery communities to tap into. With such a strong presence of recovery, sober events, activities and staying connected to a sober fellowship isn’t difficult to participate in! Being near a strong recovery community is extremely helpful in early recovery, especially amongst younger people.
In Los Angeles, there are young peoples AA meetings, clubs and events geared specifically for young people in their teens -30′s. This allows younger people to participate in a recovery community they can identify with and build friendships in. Ultimately, sobriety must become a lifestyle and having a sober network of friends to hang out with and do things together is important. Sobriety must be exciting and attractive if we are going to stay sober!
Fortunately at Miracle House, it’s location is in the heart of all the attractions and fun of Los Angeles, CA. From seeing the exhibits at the LACMA Museum and walking around the La Brea Tar Pits, to going shopping in Beverly Hills and spending time in Santa Monica, the guys at Miracle House go all over town having a safe and sober fun. We encourage the guys to enjoy their lives in sobriety as much as possible with other sober house members. This promotes healthy relationships and teaches the house members that you can have fun in sobriety. As they say in Alcoholics Anonymous, “We are not a glum lot.”
